The time this young lady puts into the studio is amazing... everything she does and all of her spare time is put into dance. She is a dedicated young lady who we have all seen grow as not only a dancer but a person. She has become a confident intelligent young lady.
Along side being student of the year, Lily was entered for the Dance World Cup team England with her solos, duets and group dances... She qualified in her solo 'Maniac' and her duet 'Man I feel like a woman' placing into the top 30!
We are super proud of Lily and cannot wait too see what she will achieve in 2024!

Ellie - Rose Micklewright was awarded the Una Gahan Scholarship programmeat at our 10 year showcase.
The award is provided by ATWP on behalf of Una Gahan who is the grandmother of principal Athena Burns. Mrs Gahan has a passion for the arts and has been a support and guide for Athena throughout all of her training and career. We dedicate the name of this award to Mrs Una Gahan as she is an inspiration to all young dancers, has always shown drive, determination and has never given up on her ambitions.
We wanted to offer this scholarship to Ellie - Rose as she is a deserving student so she may access tuition where she would otherwise be unable to The purpose of the award is to open the door to oppertunity and give support much like what was given to Director Athena by her grandmother.

My first lesson at ATWP was in December 2020. This was a bring-a-friend session. Until this, I had never danced before. Over the last two years at ATWP, I have learnt so much in the dance world. During my first year, the beginning of my dance journey was on zoom.
My first-ever competition was in March 2022, and since I had never done one, I had no idea what would happen. Now, I can't wait to get back on the stage. I was very nervous as my solo was before any group dances.
Nothing is more nerve-wracking than your first dance by yourself.
ATWP has helped me with many things like self-confidence, technique, teamwork, perseverance, and working with different age groups. I wasn't as nervous when I did another competition in May 2022 at Alton Towers.
At Alton Towers, my solo had qualified for nationals. In July 2022, I attended nationals, and my solo placed 2nd. It was an experience I will never forget, especially sharing the stage with many amazing dancers.
In the summer showcase, I was awarded Student of the Year 2022, I still can't believe it, and I'm so thankful. I have the privilege of dancing with amazing dancers at ATWP.
I couldn't have made it this far without the fantastic support I received. Not just by my team but by my dance teachers, Athena and Cerian. They have supported me through everything at ATWP.
I consider my teachers and my team my dance family. I can't wait for the road ahead and the journey I'm about to go on. Roll on, 2023!
